©AfreePress-(Lomé, April 2, 2023)-The NGO Compassion International is a non-profit organization that works to improve the living conditions of underprivileged children around the world. For 15 years, this organization has been active in Togo, where it supports and accompanies thousands of children to have access to quality education, health care and a safe environment for their future.
To celebrate this important anniversary, a service of thanksgiving was organized on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Assemblies of God church, ESTAO temple in Atikoumé (Lomé).
The initiative has enabled the management team, beneficiary children and partner churches to express through songs and praise their gratitude to God for his mercy and goodness. They also took the opportunity to entrust the future of this NGO, in the hands of the Almighty.
“The service we did this morning is to give glory to God for the 15 years of working with the partner churches. 15 years is a lot of achievements and transformations in the lives of children. We therefore took the opportunity to celebrate and thank God and all the actors who, during these 15 years, have worked and continue to work for the transformation of the lives of our beneficiaries, especially children. About 76,000 children and young people have been accompanied to date, it is a grace”, told the National Director of Compassion International Togo, Olivier Koffi AHONON.
In his worship service, the Reverend Pastor Djakouti Mitré, President of the Church of the Assemblies of God in Togo, praised the progress already made by this NGO and the excellent results recorded to date. He recalled the importance of thanksgiving and gratitude in daily life.
Referring to the positive impact that Compassion International has had on the lives of children and families in Togo, the man of God invited all actors to support the activities of Compassion International in the country.
The children also testified to the importance of education and health care in their lives and expressed their gratitude to the NGO.
This service of thanksgiving was an opportunity for the NGO Compassion International and its partner churches to pray for peace and security in Togo.
While thanking the authorities for the facilities on the ground, the National Director of Compassion International Togo renewed the commitment of his team to pursue its mission which is to change the lives of underprivileged children in Togo.
Started in February 2023, the activities marking the crystal jubilee of this NGO will continue until April 8 with sports activities at Kégué stadium in the presence of the country’s first authorities. The apotheosis of this celebration will take place on April 11, 2023 at the “Palais des Congrès” in Lomé.
