©AfreePress-(Lomé, november 29, 2023)-The ECOWAS Representation in Mali organized a workshop at the Binthily Lodge hotel in Joliba from November 22nd to 24th, 2023. Financially supported by the German Cooperation as part of the Transitional Support Project, this event brought together representatives from institutions, civil society organizations, including youth, women, and the media.
The primary objective of this gathering was to enhance the capabilities of civil society actors to support a peaceful and successful transition, thereby promoting peace and reconciliation.
Spanning over three days, the meeting emphasized the vital importance of peace and reconciliation in ensuring stability and prosperity. It also underscored the involvement of civil society in this process, which is critical for building a robust future.
The Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Mali, H.E. Màrio Gomes Fernandes, highlighted the essential role of civil society in monitoring public policies, emphasizing that success relies on good democratic governance, particularly concerning peace and reconciliation.
